說明
一般描述
Sulfite Polymyxin Sulfadiazine (SPS) Agar contains a broad spectrum of nutrients. Most clostridia (including C. perfringens) reduce sulfite to sulfide, which reacts with iron citrate ａnd causes the colonies to turn black. Other sulfite-reducing microorganisms are suppressed by polymyxin ａnd sulfadiazine (sulfapyrimidine). The low sulfite content allows the growth of even sulfite-sensitive clostridia, which exhibit an adequate blackening of the colonies.

SPS agar is suitable for the isolation ａnd enumeration of Clostridium perfringens ａnd Clostridium botulinum in all types of foodstuffs.
