說明
一般描述
Simmons Citrate Agar uses citric acid as the carbon source. It is used to differentiate Salmonella groups from each other. It does not allow the growth of Shigella or coliforms.[1]
應(yīng)用
Simmons Citrate Agar can be used for differentiating between fecal coli ａnd members of the aerogenes group based on citrate utilization.[2] It can also be used for the identification of certain fungi ａnd fungi imperfecti. The agar has been used to perform a citrate test.[3]
制備說明
Suspend 23.3 g in 1 litre distilled water ａnd heat to boiling to dissolve. Distribute in tubes or flasks ａnd sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. Allow tubes to cool as slants.
