一般描述
BiGGY Agar (Nickerson Agar) is used for detection, selective isolation, differentiation ａnd presumptive identification of Candida albicans ａnd Candida tropicalis. This agar is a selective medium used for isolation ａnd presumptive identification of Candida species by their ability to reduce sulphite to sulphide giving a brown to black colour.

BiGGY Agar has been used to evaluate the production of hydrogen sulfide in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.[1][2]
制備說明
Suspend 45 g in 1 litre distilled water. Boil gently to dissolve the medium completely. DO NOT AUTOCLAVE. Overheating will destroy the selective properties. Disperse the flocculant precipitate formed by swirling prior to dispensing into plates.
