Polymyxin B selective supplement is primarily used in microbiology for the selective isolation of various microorganisms. It contains Polymyxin B Sulphate, which targets ａnd inhibits the growth of certain Gram-positive bacteria ａnd fungi while allowing Gram-negative bacteria to proliferate. The supplement can be added to a variety of culture media, making it versatile for different types of bacterial growth conditions. It is designed to inhibit the growth of non-target microorganisms, thus facilitating the selective growth of specific bacteria strains such as Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, ａnd Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
