一般描述
Insulin is a two-chain polypeptide hormone produced by the β-cells of pancreatic islets. Its molecular weight is ~5800 Da. The α ａnd β chains are joined by two interchain disulfide bonds. The α chain contains an intrachain disulfide bond.

人胰島素溶液可用于小鼠和大鼠的胰島素耐受試驗。它還可用于人胚胎干細(xì)胞（hESC）的體外培養(yǎng)和hMSC（人間充質(zhì)基質(zhì)細(xì)胞）的成脂分化。
Insulin solution human has been used as a supplement in Dulbecco′s modified eagle′s medium (DMEM) to culture epithelial cell line ａnd human endometrial cell line, minimum essential medium eagle to culture human breast adenocarcinoma cell line ａnd medium 199 to culture normal ovarian cell line.

生化/生理作用
Insulin plays a role in various cellular processes, such as promoting cell growth, regulating the cell cycle, ａnd facilitating glucose uptake. It is commonly used as a protein supplement in serum-free mammalian cell culture media to help promote the optimal growth ａnd maintenance of mammalian cells.
