用途  該品是醫(yī)藥，農(nóng)藥的中間體。用于生產(chǎn)雙香豆素、新抗凝，華法林等抗凝血藥物。這類4-羥基香豆素衍生物是一類口服抗凝血藥物。雙香豆素因吸收不規(guī)則、不完全，已被華法林等所取代。雙香豆素作用維持時間*長（4-7d），華法林較長（3-5d），新抗凝較短（2-4d），香豆素乙酯*短（2-3d）。4-羥基香豆素也是一些殺鼠藥的中間體，例如殺鼠靈、氯殺鼠靈、克殺鼠、殺鼠萘、聯(lián)苯殺鼠萘等。殺鼠靈是代抗凝血型殺鼠劑，在全世界廣泛使用，殺鼠效果很好。第二代抗凝血型殺鼠劑是溴聯(lián)苯殺鼠萘，只要一次投餌即可使鼠中毒致死，在美國殺鼠劑市場中已占30%。4-羥基香豆素也是一種香料，香豆素類在植物界分布廣泛。牛馬吃了腐敗的紫苜蓿曾因喪失血凝性而出血致死,這可能是由于植物中香豆精形成雙香豆素而造成。
