性質(zhì)：葉酸原料藥呈淡橙黃色結(jié)晶或薄片。約250℃變暗，不熔融而發(fā)生炭化。溶于熱的稀鹽酸和硫磺，略溶于乙酸，酚吡啶，氫氧化堿和碳酸堿溶液，微溶于甲醇，不溶于乙醇和丁醇，不溶于醚、氯*仿和苯。在25℃水中溶解度僅0.0016mg/mL，沸水中約溶1%，1g葉酸于10mL水中的懸浮液，pH為4.8-4.8。

葉酸用途：葉酸（Folic acid）維生素B復(fù)合體，相當(dāng)于蝶酰谷氨酸（pteroylglutamic acid，PGA），是米切爾（H．K．Mitchell，1941）從菠菜葉中提取純化的，故而命名為葉酸。有促進骨髓中幼細胞成熟的作用，人類如缺乏葉酸可引起巨紅細胞性貧血以及白細胞減少癥，對孕婦尤其重要。
